brake pad replacement

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I pulled the brake pads off my car and went to put on the new pads and they
were completely different. I bought the car used from a dealer. Is it possible
they put different brake calipers on? If so, how do I figure out what brake pads I
need?

I doubt you have different calipers. You just got the wrong pads. The front pads are different than the rears. What brand and part number are you using?

I've changed my fair share of brake pads so I'm well aware of the possibilities in variation. What I'm saying is everywhere I look (i.e. autozone, o'reilly, rock auto, and countless other websites even using the VIN instead of the vehicle details) they list the brake pads for the rear brakes that I don't have on the rear calipers.

In the previous reply, I've posted the recommended brake pads for the rear of the vehicle. Attached is the brake pad I removed from the rear caliper.

I also ran into this problem where the ears on the rear pads are up high and the “replacements “ ears are down low. Did you find out what the actual part number was for the ones you took off?

Did you figure it out the right part number. I'm in the same situation and the part store is closed. thank you
