emergency flaashers

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 ford explorer limited editon with a problem. The emergency
flashers won't work and something is putting a draw on the battery. both turn
signals work when the emergeny flashers are not activated. I changed the
flasher control relay and fuses are all good. Any ideas on this problem?

Look closer, you may have two flasher relays and you have only replaced one. I had the same problem with a 90's vehicle and finally found the second flasher unit inside the dash. Ask a parts store about it.

If you are certain there is a draw on the battery, google parasitic draw on autos and watch a video on how to trace. To long to explain here. On my 99 I had a draw, I found out it was a broken switch on the glove box light causing it to stay on all the time. It's each to check. After sitting for a long while with the box closed, open it and touch the light. If it's really hot, there is the problem.
