Is the Oil Consumption Problem Fixed? Worried, have a 2017 Forester...
I have a 2017 Forester. My first Subie. I love it. Prior to that, I had a Honda
Pilot, 2014. It was awesome, but way too big for our needs. Prior to that I
had jeeps for years. However, when they finally sold out to FIAT- "Fix It
Again Tomorrow", I just couldn't see an independent, rugged off road vehicle
under this banner. That's also when Jeep became the acronym for "Just
Empty Every Pocket." So we left. I am right at 19,000 miles, having my third
6000 mile oil change not too long ago. I have not had any issues. My
Forester performs flawlessly. However, I am not checking my oil on a regular
basis. Do I have a need to worry? I took all of my jeeps in religiously at 3000
miles for oil/filter changes. Now, with oil changes going at 6,000 mile
intervals, perhaps more oil stick checking is needed, right? I hope and pray
that we have no problems. Any advice? After seeing all of the blogs, it looks
like the oil consumption issue is raising it's ugly head. I have an opportunity
to get rid of my Forester and get top dollar, should I do it and perhaps get
something else? An suggestions? How do you know your Subie is safe from
this horrid disease and your out of the woods?
Also what do you think of the 2018/19 Toyota Rav4, Nissan Rouge, Mazda
CX5 and Hyundai Santa Fe?
