have to jump to start .  Use to read 14.4-14.5v when operating, Now only reads 13.9-14v when running . what should you look for to solve this problem.

a normal battery will read 12.5V with the car off. 14V with car running, that tells you the alternator is properly charging. Your numbers are in the normal range. Check the battery at rest. When the car won't start, probe the battery with your multimeter. if it is 12V or lower it is time to replace. I suspect you are due for a new one.
