Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So
I have a 89 Chevy K 1500 5.7, it runs fine. starts up runs for
a little while as soon as it gets hot, it dies I and you can turn
around and start it right back up.and if i just started up take
off. Drive down the road for an hour and it runs fine.I've
replaced every sensor.  2 fuel pumps fuel pressure's good,
not losing power to the fuel pump 2 distributors, Ignition
coils, map sensors. Literally, everything I cannot figure this
out. Any help would help.

Seen something like this many years ago, long story short it wound up being the ROM chip. Replaced it and the problems went away. It took days to track it down. So do the diagnostics.

Have you tried getting any trouble codes out of the computer? If it is a computer (ECM) or PROM (Programmable Read Only Memory) problem there may be a code stored. But the computer doesn't like to "tell" on itself. It will tell on everything else though. If you replace the ECM the PROM gets transferred to the new ECM. So the problem, if it is the PROM, may persist. Jim
