Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi Guys, I have a 2wd 1989 Chevrolet C 1500 with
a 305 engine after it runs for a while and you turn
off the motor it doesn't seem to want to turn over.It
acts almost like the battery is dead yet I have
replaced the battery,new cables and
connectors,replaced the starter replaced the
distributor and all the innards in it, new fuel pump
fuel filter new computer board new ignition
switch,new catalytic converter.I have basically
done everything new in the truck and I've even
established to make sure that the ground is
working properly. It would shut off for a long-term
before I put in the new distributor(like hours before
it would start). Now after about 15 to 20 minutes
of cooling down the truck's engine will start. Does
anyone know what could be causing this problem?

Did you check ignition timing? I have heard of using a ford starter solenoid, the kind that fits on the fender lining. It helps to get the solenoid away from the heat of the engine. I don't know if that is your problem? They called it heat soak problem. I'd probably have to hunt for that wiring diagram. Could be other issues? I'd hate to see you try that, just fond out it didn't work? I can only make suggestions.
