First off automatic transmissions have neutral safety switch that prevents it from starting in any gear besides park or neutral. I can’t say for certain if the 1990’s had a first gen 4L60e or not but if so the gear selector is tied in to the neutral safety switch at the transmission by 2 separate harness connectors that send the gear position back to the pcm. If the neutral safety switch is not synced or positioned right then it will not send the proper signal back to the pcm for starting or shifting purposes. You may need to change or replace that component to accommodate for a manual transmission.

I can't get my truck to start after replacing the fuel pump. 1 Answer

I have replaced the fuel pump on my 1992 Chevy Silverado 5.7L, and now it won't start. I think the fuel lines have air in them, will it work itself out, or is there a process for me to bleed them?

okay so I just did my tune up. I drove the truck yesterday and it drove fine. everyone keeps telling me that the timings off. but I have everything in the right firing order and now its not starting its back firing and now I have smoke coming from under the hood. the spark im getting is an orange color. the truck is acting like it wants to start the motor turns but it wont completely start. please help! 4 Answers

just changed spark plugs, cap, rotors, and wires. the truck ran fine and started fine just yesterday. Chevy C1500, Motor350 5.7 V8.

My 99 k1500 suburban 5.7 liter 4x4 stays engaged n won't disengage the lights on the switch blink on of from 4h to 4l n then stays lit in 4h I have replaced the switch n the actuator in front and it still does the same thing before I replace the motor in the transmission is there anything else I can check or replace that is less expensive the used motor is 100 at junk yard my service 4x4 light was on n off now it stays on all the time any help will be well appreciated winter is here n I get stuck in my yard in 1" snow all the time thank you 1 Answer
