Major Emissions Service

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Dealership noting that my 2014 Mazda 3 (59,000km) needs a "major emissions
service" that will cost about $200. I can't find any information about this in the
manual as part of regular maintenance. Is this something that needs to be done
regularly, if so, what is it? Or is the dealership trying to charge me for an
unnecessary servicing?

Unless they can itemize the service and tell you exactly what they are going to do I would say it is BS. Nothing "major" can be done to the emissions system for $200.
