Driver Side Door Issues

Asked by JennyPooh84 Nov 02, 2020 at 06:14 PM about the 2012 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Every time I lean or pretty much touch the driver side door the open door
sensor comes on, and the inside ceiling lights as well. It's not the door jam
sensor because that was replaced, but it still did it. Help, cause I'm not sure
what else to do.

sounds like the seat belt was shut in the door jamb and dented the metal of the door where it pushes the door ajar switch. When you push the switch in does the light go out until you release it? If so put a door bumper for a household cabinet door on the door where it hits the switch. If it is related to a dented door from a seatbelt and the switch is good this should fix the problem for the time being. Some door ajar switches can also be adjusted for a further reach through the jamb.
