best way to get air out of cooling system

the heater core Is about 1/2 way the height of the rad .I had it parked on an angle with the rad cap off and let it run for 2 hours and squeezing the coolant hoses during this time .got air bubbles out but still the temp gauge is dropping and getting cool air when foot off gas peddle and coasting .

Because if you let your vehicle run for 2 hours with the cap off and it did not over heat you definitely have a problem vehicle is not building up pressure.

Sounds like you have a blockage in the cooling system try doing a cooling system flush. Prestone Super Flush is really good. If that does not help may have a clogged radiator that needs to be replaced.
