Asked by ch3vyg1rl Jan 01, 2016 at 11:48 PM about the 1983 Chevrolet Impala Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 83 chevy impala. When I try to start it, it
won't crank. And I smell gas. At first I thought it
was my carburetor, but now I'm wondering if it's
the fuel pump.

Could be a gas line has a hole. When the key is turned on the fuel pump starts pumping.
