how much weight can you carry in a 2016 Outback

Look in the owners manual but from memory I believe total weight including passengers and cargo is around 900#.

The 900 lbs. was my recollection also. I recently hauled 800 lbs. of clay about 200 miles. 500 lbs was unloaded and then the car was driven just a few miles on an errand. That's the last time I will use the Outback for hauling any significant weight. The handling was really bad on the long trip and only a little better on the local trip.. It felt like it was on the edge of losing control and I was really beat by the time I arrived home. Nice car, but not a hauler!
