Subaru legacy 2016 issues

Asked by Guru5Y2Y5 Dec 30, 2017 at 03:19 PM about the 2016 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We ordered our subaru from the factory
and got it September 2015.  My husband
did not like the way it sounded when
starting saying it knocked too much.  He
took it back to the dealership and they said
it was just the way the boxer engine
sounds, starting several others to show
him.  2 years later and he is still convinced
there is a problem.
We have also had issues with both front
windows coming 1/2 way back down when
we try to close them and have to close
them a little at a time to make them stay
up.  It only happens when you use the one-
touch option and is sporadic.   We are well
past the 30,000 mile warranty so we have
just been dealing with it.  Any others out
there with similar issues or solutions?

Subaru engines are noisy on start up. If the engine has no problems after two years the noise level is probably normal. One Subaru engine of mine was noisier than normal due to an oiling issue. I could hear it and managed to convince a Subaru service manager who agreed to tear the engine down. Every moving part was scored or galled due to lack of oil flow. This was an engine installed by a dealer due to excessive oil consumption and it was the fault of the dealers mechanic.

I suspect the window issue is a programming problem. Did you replace the battery without using a code saver?
