Question type: Car Customization

If I install aftermarket fog lights can I get power to them by splicing and
connecting to the main headlight feed?  This way when the headlights come
on so will the fog lights. This way no switch is needed and no wiring through
the firewall.  Will this work?

No it wouldn't. Headlights have there own system with ballast and such. That would be a big drain on the system, possibly causing the headlights to go out. You do not want to splice into the wires for the headlight system.

Probably pulling power from the battery and using a relay to switch the power is the best idea. It is never a good idea to slice into any factory wiring.

Maybe I'll just switch out my bulbs to something brighter like Sylvania Silver Star and forget about adding fog lights for now. Thank you again.

I did some research and what I read was that Philips bulbs had better reviews than Sylvania. But this research pertained to Dodge Rams. When you go with a brighter bulb it's useful life will decrease so keep that in mind if you do a lot of night driving. I ordered my bulbs from www.rockauto.com Good prices and pretty fast delivery. I am not affiliated with any of the vendors I recommend.
