I found this info from a senior Hyundai tech: no need to turn anything on... this auto defrosting function is seperate from the "auto climate control"... even if the system is off, and it realizes that you need it - it then turns on. Had it happen once during the winter months when it was cold outside and the windows were fogging up... --------------------------------------------------------------------- More good info here: https://www.hyundai-forums.com/dm-2013-santa-fe/182345-auto-defogging-system.html And here: https://www.hyundai-forums.com/2016-tucson-ix35-models/509970-how-do-i-turn-ads-what.html Hope that helps BNGK8! Hold the defogger button for a few seconds. The ADS message will flash and then disappear.

Hyundai ADS system is useless. I have been suffered from not able to disable the ADS for a month. Now the problem solved and can turn on Recirc button. Thanks.

It was extra cold this morning so I turned up the heat, and that’s when I noticed the “ADS OFF” alert for the first time. Could it be that this way the windshield wouldn’t get fogged up from the heat when it’s icy cold? I parked my Ioniq in the garage.
