Whys would the stop and stay iight stay on after the car is turned off

When the car is turned off the stop and stay light stays on

Do you mean the brake light? If you do, there is a little plastic clip above the brake pedal that broke off. That is keeping the circuit closed so the light is staying on....you can put anything (none metal) there as a temporary till you get the right clip
