Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After I start my Yukon and drive it
or let it sit idling for a few minutes
the transmission wont work. Like
it's in neutral no matter what I do
or what gear I put it in. When I turn
it off and restart it it works fine
again for a few minutes then
same thing. Any ideas?

I think it's on it's way out unless the filter is clogged ,, fluid should be at correct level and nice and pink , you can take it to a shop but I think it's done

My 04 Yukon is doing the same thing. Did you ever figure out the problem?

My dad took off and inspected the solenoids (I think that is what it was) and it worked for a few weeks. I was so excited because I hadn't driven it in a year because we couldn't figure out the issue. I finally decided it was safe to drive out of town, but I was wrong. It started doing the same thing again on my way back home. I had to turn it off and back on several times to get closer to home. I eventually called my dad and he had to tow it home. Now we are back to square one. I feel like it has to be electrical and not the actual transmission through. Because I can't see it working off and on if the transmission was going out.
