Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We just purchased a 2015 dodge dart SXT back in
November... About a month after we got it it
overheated I pulled over right away and let it sit
before we took it home.  We just got it out of the
shop today they thermostat was bad they said we'll
after one hour of driving it the temp was hot again
it has always been on the half line and above I
don't understand why???  Help

Your wording is hard to understand what your asking, so the car does not overheat now? The halfway mark on the gauge is ok. if it does not go any higher.

Once you stop the engine the temperature gauge will climb some. Its when your driving that the gauge stays in the normal range.

This same thing happened to me when driving in the cold. It's an electronics issue. Your engine is fine. Replacing a thermostat will have no effect. Take it to the dealer, but unless it is malfunctioning when you take it, you will waste your money. I just turn the car off put in neutral, coast for half a minute, and then restart the car, pull over, and put it into drive.
