4 wheel drive maintaince came on & I have never used the 4wd

I have never used this function, what could this mean?

The 4wd module has seen a problem in the system. Have a garage check the codes for the 4x4. You need to engage the 4x4 at least twice a year and drive it to get everything to work.

Help my 4wd sign name on in my car I accidently switched the lever (big boob problems) when I leaned over to get something off the ground and now my car is jumping what should I do
