Does the Ford Escape have front and back
brakes?

Yes. Front brakes on the front wheels and back brakes on the rear 2 wheels. All cars legal on the roads today must have working brakes on each and every wheel.

It has probably been a 100 years since a car did not have four wheel brakes.
