what kind of motor oil or viscosity i need to use if my truck has more than 100,000 milles?

i am using the 15w 40 and much noise is heard in the engine as if they were the valve
springs and no noise is removed even thoug if the motor is hot.

I always use 10w40 with a bottle of LUCUS engine oil treatment...my 95 k1500 has over 252,000 miles on it
