fan wont run
1 Answer
1. Check the fuses. 2. See if you have power going to the fan thermostats. 3. If no power past the fuses, make sure the wires are good and connected. 4. If you have power leading to the thermostats, try to bypass the thermostats and see if that turns the fans on. If you have power to the fans, but they don't run, check the connections and ground. You may have bad thermostats, bad fan motors, poor connections, and if the computer turns on the fans as some EFI systems do, have the sensors. wiring, and computer itself checked. First is the fuses and wiring and connections. Next is the thermostats. Bypass the thermostats and see if the fans work, if not it may be the motors, or connections. On my 69, I bypass the thermostats and have them run all the time. My engine is built up and runs hot so I have the fans run all the time. In So. Cal. it's not an issue. If you can't do it yourself, find a good car electrical mechanic that know what he is doing. It could be a simple thing, or even the fans. Fan replacement is way cheaper than an engine replacement.
