Won't fire. No coil output when starting but good voltage with key on
2.5L I-4 type A engine. 2X4 Automatic. (New Mexico Edition?) We can't afford a shop
to fix this so we're kinda on our own. (We're all females) Replaced coil but couldn't get
the old coil off so hooked up all wires and tied it to another part of the engine
compartment. Coil output is good until you turn the key to start it, then it drops to almost
nothing. (Used a volt-ohm meter) Is the coil mounting the problem or is it the pickup coil
in the distributor or is there anything else that will do this? Is there anybody in Lincoln
Nebraska that can help us with this? We'd be EXTREMELY grateful!!

NOTES:(Ignition coil mounted under intake manifold? Distributor mounted at the
bottom rear passenger side of truck? How is anyone supposed to reach these items to
repair them? - We have small hands and arms - Was this designed by monkeys or just
morons?)
