My truck is sputtering, staling, and bucking

89 has 160,000 miles.Its allways run great but a couple days ago it started overheating.
We put a new thermostat in and temp is better. It idle's fine but stalls, sputters and
bucks. Any ideas?

I also put some bars leak in the radiator after we changed the thermostat, but didn't let it run or idle for long enough...
