I was driving my '29 Model A and it suddenly began back firing and losing power. It will run but when I hit the accelerator it sputters and doesn't gain rams. Gas flow appears normal. Suggestions?

I occasionally had a similar problem. I have rust flakes in the gas tank and sometimes bits of rust got thru the fuel bowl and fouled the carb jets. I now use a micro filter inside the fuel bowl and that has cleared the problem. Any foreign matter clogging the carb jets will cause your problem. Blow some carb cleaner thru the jets and that might take care of it.
