Engine runing, not able to shift to reverse or drive

if the shifter or interlock solenoid are broken, is this will prevent to shift to any gear event he engine is off? Weird, I can shift to any gear while the engine is off.

I tried the following below last night: Scan using the ODB2 and didnt find any error. I have a warning on dashboard, Brake Lights and Brake Lining - I am not sure if this preventing to shift the gear to locked. Tried also Turn the key to position 1 - I can shift the gear without any problem Turn key key to position 2 (ON) - Can not shift the gear Turn key key to position 2 (ON) and start the engine - Can not shift the gear Turn key key to position 2 (ON), start the engine and turn OFF - Can not shift the gear Turn key key to position 2 (ON) and turn key back to position 1 - Can not shift the gear I noticed when the key is ON the position that is the time the shift gear is locked. I hope this helps
