Does anyone have an idea as to how much a ambient temperature sensor replacement  / diagonistics/ rewiring should cost for a 2013 mini cooper s?

I started seeing a check engine light on along with a triangle with snow flake in it. It is 90 degrees outside, so clearly it is not cold.

I am getting absurd quotes of 1400$ for this service from a "reputed" mini cooper service center.

FCPeuro has the OEM kit for the sensor for $55 with free shipping. Install it yourself and save. You can scan for the trouble codes as well, pick up a scanner for $20 or use your Phone, OBDfusion app and a wifi OBDII interface.
