1999 Dodge Dakota Standard Transmission Fluid Check/Add

Many new cars do not have a transmission dip stick. You check the level by removing a plug on the side. The level should be to the bottom of the plug. It should not go down unless there is a leak.
Is it the 7/16th plug on the driver side a little less than midway up the tranny? I just don't want to turn something that could break something internally
I'm having a hard time finding a definite answer. Some show a dip but no year. If you have a dip stick, it would be yellow and on the passenger side of the engine by the firewall. Easy to see behind the intake. Check with other owners on this forum - http://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen-dakota- 67/
