What does it mean when your steering is
hard to move

My information shows that your Equinox has the traditional power steering system (not electrical) and it probably is just low on fluid. If it's not low, then check to see if the power steering drive belt is in place and running. This belt also runs water pump, alternator, and the gauges would show if there's a problem there. There is also a power steering position sensor that could fail and show a check engine light. If the check engine light is on, have it scanned for codes. Most likely, just low on fluid.

If your 80 Amp fuse was not the issue to the loss of your power steering try and wiggle the wiring on you Power steering motor and push in the connectors under the steering column. Do not know if it a temporary or a permanent fix. This might be a quick and easy fix. https://youtu.be/e-jE_wxKOWY
