2013 Mitsubishi Outlander

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander won't start or turn
over when using the key. All electronic devices in
SUV seem to be working just fine but nothing
happens at all when I try to start it. Could my
battery on my key be dead and that's why it won't
start? It's not remote start and you need the key to
stary it. What do you think it could be?

It could be a number of things. If the battery is dead most likely the electronic components will not work. Does it make any noise when you try to start it? (clicking?). It could be the starter. The best way to test this is to locate the starter, and give it a good whack with a wrench (DO NOT POUND ON IT), just a decent whack. Then try to start the car. if it starts, its the starter. If it doesn't, ti could be number of issues from the ignition coil pack, to the alternator, to a sensor failure.

It doesn't make any noise at all when you turn it over. I'll check the starter when I get home from work. Thanks.
