Car doesn’t move when put in drive.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Put my car in drive and it didn’t move, and the
check engine light came on. I turned it off and set
for a minute or two and when I turned it back on it
moved. I’m really hoping it’s not anything serious.
Any thoughts?

May be a simple fix, such as those cursed, but necessary sensors going bad or sending an incorrect code. Tom is correct, have the codes read, it may save you $ on a transmission repair. It's too new for a shifter wearing out.

my 2011 equinox will start but wont drive forward or in reverse
