Engine and epc light on

Asked by Lalo Jun 04, 2018 at 11:43 PM about the 2013 Volkswagen CC 2.0T R-Line FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a Volkswagen CC r line 2013 with 27000
miles . When I hit 70 mph the epc light and engine
lights turn on . After that it feels like it doesn’t make
correct shifts and trembles . We put it on the
scanner and it marks misfire on cylinder 1 and 4 .
We’ve change ignition coils and spark plugs and I’m
still having the same issues. What can be the
solution to my problem?

I'm also having the same issue. I know there is a fuel pump recall. I'm getting that done tomorrow. I'm crossing my fingers this helps. I've had a tune up, replaced all could and spark plugs, used a can of cream in every other fill up with premium gas and the problem persists.

Having the exact same problem! Just had my recall for then fuel pump completed, issue is still not resolved though. Diagnostics state that there are misfires. Going to change the spark plugs and coils. Surely we aren’t all having the exact same issue randomly. All of these recalls have got to have something to do with it :(

Okay, sooooo I was right where you all were last year around this time. Then my car just wouldn’t start. I needed a whole new ENGINE!! Turns out that VW didn’t put a recall out for a timing chain issue they have on pretty much all the VW’s since 2011/12. There is a class action suit against VW. All the people this happened to are getting paid back in full! Including myself. HOWEVER, I just got the car serviced TODAY, the recall for the airbag, steering coil and the damn fuel pump. Drive home, went to the store, got back in the car to go back home and the car starts making this strange noise (like a clunking noise) I opened the hood and the engine was rocking. I drove home. Turned the car off, waited a few minutes and went to start it and it cranked and cranked, epc light came on and it just stopped cranking with a loud “sigh” for lack of a better word. My battery needs to be replaced and I’ve had to jump it everyday to start it. Someone told me I needed VW to change it but they told me today at VW that isn’t true. Idk what this could be. Anybody know? Could this happen to be something that happen as a result of something not being installed properly? A bigger issue that has nothing to do with anything I’ve mentioned above? Or I just need a new battery really bad?

The turbo is the problem. I had the same issue, EPC light came on, car started shaking and rattling in 6 speed. Down shifted to 4th gear and drove home. Dealership replaced turbo and did a tune up. Car now runs fine, but has some whinning noise on start up, which goes away when car warms up. Am yet to find answers for the noise but atleast the other issues are fixed.
