03 P71 crown vic stumbles / dies off on hard acceleration but is ok with soft acceleration

I am about to purchase an 03 PI from a family member. It Runs great untill u put u put ur foot into it. soft
acceleration its ok. hard acceleration is bogs down. fuel filter changed.. MAF? TIA!

fuel pump might be on its way out.
You may have a vacuum leak aswell. It could be fuel pump but this will make it hunt and drive like a pig. Best of diagnoses reader see what sensors a.d switches are doing!

fuel pressure regulator changed. same prob, Is there a port on the fuel rail to check pressure from?
You tee into the fuel line. But is it blowing black smoke mAnifold may be cracked.

no smoke. 63kmiles runs smooth. with soft acceleration it will get up to 70mph but it wont go faster. makes me feel like its not getting enough fuel... maybe transmission related? i love this car but hope its not gonna cost a fortune to remedy.
