Growling noise in 2012 Forester

I've recently noticed a growling noise, almost like the drone of an old propeller-plane engine, coming from the rear area of my 2012 Forester (90k miles). Could it be bad bearings? I just had it serviced a few weeks ago.

I'm having the same issue.with my 2015 Forester. The right rear tire was badlybworn so I replaced the tires but the noise is still happening. I was wondering if it might be a wheel bearing too!

im hearing a grinding sound when stopping.....i checked all brakes......they are 50% so not sure

Just started having the same issue - rumbling noise from the rear passenger side. Did the original poster ever diagnose the problem?
