1997 Sebring JXI convertible Odometer display gone!

Asked by Mark Jun 11, 2011 at 06:27 PM about the 1997 Chrysler Sebring JXi Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello all,

I just purchased a JXI convertible and since purchasing the odometer is no longer displaying the milage of the vehicle. There is nothing at all displaying in the place where the reading should be!  Could this be a fuse or something more sinister??

The rev counter is also not working, could the two be linked??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mark

Mark, If you have not found the fix for this yet... I know what it is !! My 97 JXI had the same thing happen just a few months ago.... You can get the computer board at a Junk yard for almost dirt cheap... they burn up after a while and you most likely burnt a resistor on the board that shows those lights. With mine... the speedometer and the lights all went out on me... Now for the life of me, I do not know what it is called ... LOL...just call around and tell them you need the computer board that feeds the speedometer on your dash readout.
