Engine Shuts off with Check 4WD system error
Hi,
The car runs fine in general, but on long routes or after going about 50-60 miles when I turn off the engine for any reason (fueling, store, etc) and then I start the engine (within 10 minutes of turning it off), the engine shuts off in about 3 seconds with "Check 4WD system" error on the display.
This happens again for a few times.
I let it sit for about 2-5 minutes and then try again, then ok, it works.
Sometimes it takes up to 10 minutes before its ok.
I don't have check engine light.
I had this problem in addition to "Transmission over temp" for a few week.
I just got my car back from the dealer last week, where they replaced the Transmission Valve Body Solenoid, fluid and filters (both of them).
That fixed the "Transmission over temp" issue but not the "Check 4WD system".
I've taken to the dealer a couple times but cannot recreate the issue since on short runs or road tests this doesn't happen. I've made a video and showed him that but the engineer says that they've checked all the harnesses for both the transfer case and the differentials.
They've also checked the sensor of the transmission and all are ok.
The just did a reflash of the onboard computer to make sure all the sensors are ok.
But the problem persists on long routes and even short routes when I drive thru some traffic confessions.
I'm hoping someone has some kind of answer for this since I've searched hi and lo but nothing on the internet nor with anyone else.
Someone says it might be a differential solenoid actuator or the sensor.
But need to be sure since the transmission solenoid already set me back $1000 (this is the 2nd time I've replaced it since I had the car in 5 years).
Appreciate your help.
