transmission wont shift out of first gear

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2004 concordeTransmission is full but does not shift out of first gear. No lack of power
so I don't suspect catalytic converter. I'm thinking screen in pain. Any other
ideas???????

Speedo not working and check engine light?

There are an input and output (output sends signal to ecm ) ecm sends signal to trans controller and shift occurs.

My car wouldn't shift out of first so upon replacing my speed input sensor i noticed the wireing harness going to it had worn and melted together once i seperated and re taped them my car shifted like a champ

hi the new speed sensor did not work the computer can not reboot with out being taken out and disconnected can not touch car at all try it

My 2001 wouldn't shift out of first,changed both out put & input sensors still wouldn t shift code reader gave po605 & po700 .changed the (TCM) Tranny computer now it shifts,but when slowing to a stop it downshifts with a slight jerk.
