VW CC engine problem

Asked by xnhx00 Feb 28, 2021 at 05:51 PM about the 2011 Volkswagen CC 2.0T Sport FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently took my 2011 VW CC to the dealership to
remove locking lugnuts. They did it quickly and I
drove away with no problems. 2 days later, after
driving an hour out of town with no issues, I try to
start it and it took about 8 seconds of cranking.
After that, the engine idle was extremely rough and
died after about 20 seconds, less if I gave it gas. It
has had a bit of trouble starting for some time, but
it always drove fine. Any ideas are appreciated.

No I was just stating that it recently went to dealership and was driven ~100 miles with no apparent issues before giving out on me. Checked all spark plugs and coils, air filter and intake, with no problems so far. Someone suggested tje engine skipped time but I'm not familiar enough to know if that causes my issues.

Is the check engine light on? You could try a fuel system cleaner in case you got some bad gas.

The engine light flashes for the short time the car runs. I may try that. Trying to get my hands on a code reader.
