This is not the easy question it appears to be.please do not tell me to check the owner's manual because I've done that and it is wrong.

recently I had a flat tire. My 2011 Toyota RAV4 has
the spare tire on the back of the vehicle. It has a
hard cover with the soft leather edges along the rim
of the cover. Owner's manual says there's a latch.
There is not a latch. Could not figure out how to
access it unless you just yank it off which would
damage the hardcover and the leather probably. No
one I have come in contact with can figure it out.I
guess I'm going to have to go to a Toyota
dealership to see if they can tell me what the
answer is. It does not have a latch.
