We have a 2011 KIA Sedona that has developed a noticeable whine in the engine even though there has been no change in the engine's performance!

Does it get louder when you turn? Even if not check your power steering fluid to begin with. Then the belt tension for everything

If the whine changes pitch when you accelerate without any steering input, the most likely cause is the idler pulley bearing is going out. If it changes when you steer without acceleration it is probably related to the power steering system. Those would be the first 2 things I'd check
