What is the problem with my knock sensor?

Asked by notasupervillain Jan 01, 2019 at 02:44 PM about the 2011 Hyundai Accent GLS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

3 weeks ago my check engine light came on during a long drive. I had AutoZone run a test and they recommended I replace my knock sensor, so I did. The light went off while I was waiting for it to be mailed, but I replaced it anyway just to be safe. Now the light came on again and AutoZone told me the same thing. The car's running fine, but the check engine light hasn't gone off this time and it's been a few days. I'm not sure what to do.

Try running a tank of premium and see if the problem stops. Ask them if the part you bought is warrantied!

I have the same problem, just replaced my knock sensor and the light is still on. I removed the fuses from the fuse box and waited 5 minutes but after putting them back in no joy the sensor light is still on. I will try a full tank of premium gas and see if that works.
