I have not heard many complaints about electronics but the CVT is not all that good.

GuruTLDWS,. How many miles are on the car?? I have a 2010 Subaru Outback Limited with the CVT transmission and 2.5 engine..... runs great..... I agree with FOR... get the transmission fluid changed regularly.... every 30,000 to 40,000 miles.... With any used car....it's all about CONDITION...and where you live.... In Southern California..cars last easily for 20 years... not so much in the rust belt.... Good luck....

Decaf, Grasshopper! If your CVT acts correctly (good torque converter) and isn't really loud (bad internal bearing), DO drain and pump in 3.75 qts CVT fluid. Consider changing out the aging iridiums this year, too, and peel back the left front cover to check the t-belt. If not cracked, leave it alone. Best affordable mod is to replace the skinny rear stabilizer (anti-sway) bar and end links with those made for the modern STi (20mm), for a GREAT improvement in handling and reduction in body roll and sway. Don't forget the air filter, and expect to replace wheel bearings as you roll on.
