Buying a 79 e21 m10 motor all fuel components have been replaced and all vaccum line except the intake boot. say he thinks it has a rip in it. would this cause the car to be fine at idle but drive bad

Well I'm getting a new one but everything else is new! It's all f'd up tho so wanted to check!
