2011 Toyota Camry SE Engine

Asked by codiesvw74 Jul 07, 2014 at 11:12 PM about the 2011 Toyota Camry SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Toyota Camry SE. Today I was driving it and all of a sudden the engine
just revved up high and loud to about 6500 rpm. I looked out the mirrors and there was
white smoke billowing out the tailpipes. I pulled into a parking lot and turned the car off.
The smoke quit coming out and never came back out. The car is running fine as I had
to drive it home, carefully of course. It drove like it normally did but it has really
confused me on what caused the high rev all of a sudden and the white smoke. I
checked all the oil, fluids, etc and they are all fine and nothing was leaking out the
bottom other than water from the AC. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Usually when those symtoms occur it means your head gasket has blown. Has it been smoking like that since that day?
