torqueing the hub bearing bolts

Asked by GuruD6RDM Aug 02, 2022 at 02:48 PM about the 2010 Chevrolet Impala LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced both front hub bearings on my 2010 Impala. I purchased a torque
wrench at harbor freight and used it to torque the hub bearing bolts but the
torque doesn't stop at the setting stated for that car which is 96 ft. lbs. I don't
know what to do if I can't torque it according to the specs. Any suggestions?

What kind of torque wrench did you buy? A click type, analog, digital? A click type you just keep apply pressure until you feel the click, then stop, Analog or digitalis you just apply pressure until you reach the number you have set it too.

If you used a 1/2" drive socket with a small cheater bar to get them off then use that to put them back on , Be the ball danny , in this case the bolt .
