2010 Ford Fusion Wrench Light

Mine just did the same thing. Temps in the upper 80's, and I was going 72+ - might have accelerated to pass someone. When I start the car again it was gone. Planning to take it in and have it checked, but would also like to know if this is just a weird glitch.

I have had the exact same issue. Driving 70mph down the interstate the light comes on and stays on until the car is shut off. The power doesn't seem to be affected. Just got a new battery and had the power assist steering adjusted. Anyone know the answer?

The same has been happening to my 2010 fusion hybrid for the past few years never noticing power problems. Last night I had no power when I tried to accelerate and when I looked down my wrench light and check engine light were on...now it’s a problem. I take it today to find out wth.

For the 2012 Fusions (can’t recall if it was just the 2.5 liters or it and the V6 engine) there was a recall within the first 6 months on the entire throttle body assembly. However, the write up from would not allow the owner to just take the car in for a new assembly, but, person had to wait until the wrench light came on. That lead me to look in the service manual that came new ‘with the car’ since the small piece on the wrench light i had overlooked. It simply read (for the ‘12 Fusion) that services as a warning for throttle body & transmission - which found odd and suspicious - because how did Ford know that when they were designing and prototyping that they were going to need a separate light just for those two functions. Then, 6 months after finally getting into the market they issue a recall on the assembly... Ummm.... Well, about a year after I brought it new, and 6 months after recall, the wrench came on, but for the next 6 days until the dealer had an open it drove without causing any problems - never loss power or trying to stall etc etc... However, some other makes and model years when wrench came on the Fords would go immediately into shutting down, some actually needed trannies flushed, and some were just having ‘ghost light’ disorder since scanning by dealer mechanics and other certified mechanics found no fault codes in pending or active memory coding to include no none or noticeable performance issues......
