Sometimes paper gets sucked up in the intake of air duct work. Most times it's located on the passenger side foot well just under the dash.

How do I get to that area of my van. I'm not very car savy?
Right in front of passenger seat where back of floor board turns up and meets the duct work mounted under the dash. (Just above where your feet would be if you was sitting in the seat.) Look for an opening in the duct work.

Bearing in the blower motor is dirty it is made of brass and is considered a self lubricating metal the stator shaft gets build up on it and starts squeeking then growling and stops if you take it out now and use some really good spray lube w a straw you can most likely save it. Wait and you will be buying one and most likely not cheap. Once blower motor is extracted you will see how it comes apart, Disclaimer: if you are not good w small parts and patient, ask a mechanically minded friend for help. Total time for repair 2hrs. If you need technical support feel free to contact me.
Are just started making a noise. Did you ever figure this out?
