Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Looking at a car, guy says the air works and then
the heat stopped one winter and just blows out
cold air...is it the actuator or something else, and
what does it take to fix it. And can the problem
with the heat be figured out by just looking at it...or
do I need to get it checked out...and if u know
something bout what the problem most likely
is....how much am I looking at spending to fix it

U an also try letting engine get hot then turn on heat, go outside to the two heater hoses(about 1inch in diameter but make sure they're not the a/c hoses) going to the heater core, ones in for fluid, ones out. Touch them both should be near same temp. If one hose is hot and one cold, core is plugged

Most likely the blend door actuator. Look at You tube videos. It is easy to replace by pulling the dash back a few inches. Don't panic yet it's easier than it sounds. you only have to remove a nut on each side & one in the middle below the dash. Actuator is around $60 Don't try to take the shortcuts by going through the dash or glove box that just adds to the BS. You may need someone to help lift the dash back into place to install the nuts you removed. Good luck.
