Question type: General

I have a 2009 Chevy HHR LS , a 2.4 Liter I believe, and I bought it last year at around
134k miles. I'm at around 165.6k as of now, I get oil changes regularly, maintain its
antifreeze and all the good stuff. But next month I want to take a road trip from around
Chicago, IL to Branson, MO. It's about a 1,200 mile round trip and I only have access to
this car. Do you think it'll make the trip?

I see many newer vehicles with over 300,000 miles that are still running well. I do not see why any new car could not do 500,000 miles if maintained properly. I am sure there are a few exceptions to that rule but I do not think your HHR is problamatic

How well was it maintained before you got it? Has the transmission been checked? Do that, check the belts and hoses, change the motor oil if need be, the shocks and tires good? Enjoy the drive and don't worry. Be happy.

My 2011 HHR base model just hit 300,000 miles. Just change oil every 15,000 miles and air filter . Plugs every 100,000 miles . NO problems yet.

I have a 2009 HHR that I bought w/28,000 miles on it. It now has 88,000. It's been mainly a trouble free vehicle. I've replaced the struts, belts, a cam timing sensor, & a right front wheel bearing assembly. It's a manual trans model, & I'm over zealous w/oil changes...every 3000 miles, & I use Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas & oil as well. I should get well over 300,000 out of it.

I just bought a 2009 HHR with little over 82,000 miles on it. I'm hoping it will last me a long time. I do Walmart grocery deliveries and I figure this will hold on better then the constant stopping and going better then my Cadillac srx. So far it runs good but sounds like I'm going to need ball joints replaced. Oil life was already at 94%. So far I like it
