Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my rear drive shaft came out while driving, not
out of the transmission but from the rear yoke, I
removed the drive shaft and put it into 4wd. I
plugged the transmission so not to lose
transmission fluid. A few miles down the road my
4wd stops working and I'm stranded. 300 bucks
later and another 150 for a new rear drive shaft I
thought I was in the clear. Not so much, I have the
service 4wd on the dash and cant get it to go out
of 4wd. Regardless of where I have the dial set, the
truck will go from 4wd hi and 4wd low while the
dial is set to 2wd. I replaced the actuator hopi g to
solve this with no luck. Anyone know what could
be going on?

Yes that is how the rear fell out, I have the rear drive shaft all set at this point. My current issue is with the 4wd. While in 4wd the service 4 wheel drive message came up and the truck no longer accelerated. I had it towed and replace the rear drive shaft and u joints figuring I could drive the truck in 2 wheel until I got the 4wd figured out. Now everytime I turn the truck on it will go into 4wd high or 4wd low, sometimes auto and once 2w high. I have the dial set to 2w high but it's like it had mankind of it's own. When the truck did finally go into 2w high the service 4 wheel drive message did go away. But the next time I started the truck it went into 4wd low and the message came back on. I replaced the 4wd actuator hoping to fix the problem but had no luck.
